Civil Engineering, Quality Assurance, Piping, Autocorrelation Graphs for piping, SOT database, Constructing War Room, Salt Waste Processing Facility

Developed an Autocorrelation graph for the Quality Assurance team for a one of a kind government Salt Waste Processing Facility. I gathered data, constructed lag graphs , and compared the data to the earned value. Based on the data I collected and analyzed, I was able to show that the contractor was 3 months behind on the reporting of the piping being done.

Worked around the government workers that did the quality assurance. I went on walked downs of the facility with the QA team. They taught me about the things they look for when they went on walk downs.

Learned about the overall chemical process of the Salt Waste Processing Facility. I took two classes on the overall process and I was able to go to the facility everyday and learn about how things worked. I worked closely with chemical, civil, and electrical engineers. I went on walk downs with each and they taught me different things about the facility.

Followed a civil engineer apart of the quality assurance team around and I was able to see what they did during each day. I learned about rebar, and I was able to watch it being put in. I was able to go over civil drawing with the engineer.

Constructed a database for SOT’s. I gather the documents, put them into one file, analyzed the SOTs, and they gave me the challenge to find trends in the data.

Helped other interns with the construction of a War Room for the Salt Waste Processing Facility team.
