What’s the need to rush through life?

Image result for rushingIt’s 8:12 p.m. on a monday night. I’m just listening to Futures new mixtapes. It’s actually pretty good but not better than the last.  I had a history test today. I think I did pretty well. I have homework to do later on tonight. Im sure I wont be going to sleep anytime soon. Before I did my homework. I wanted to address something that I have a major problem with.

I have a problem with you people my age that are trying to rush through life. I just do not understand what you are rushing for. You are just 18 and 19 and you’re living like you are in your 30’s and 40’s. Everyday on facebook I am seeing someone new pregnant. I know accidents happen but I do not understand how yall have one kid and then that one is not even out of diapers and you are pregnant again. I don’t want to call your child a mistake but I think you should learn from what you are doing. You and your significant other do not have the education to get a job where you can support a family. Working a job at mcdonalds or something of that sort is not enough for a child in my opinion. I just want to be able to provide more for my child when I get other. I want to be able to buy them the things that they want and need. I also would prefer to not be going through any baby momma drama.

I know some of yall are just so in love with each other that yall feel it is necessary. I feel if you love someone enough you don’t need anything to hold you two together. Most of the time when you have babies young you feel like you have to stay with the person because of the child. I am no psychologist but I think that can lead to you resenting the person you thought you were so in love with. My parents always taught me to get a good job and find someone that you love and know that you will never get tired of before you have a child. When boys have babies young they usually cheap just because you all were together for so long and they want something new. Men are not monogamous creatures.

The next thing that I think people are rushing through life to do is getting married. I have seen many people around my age get engaged and married. I have heard of love at first sight but there are still things you don’t know about that person. That is the purpose of date for a good period of time before you even think about getting married is for. You have to learn about all of the aggravating, stupid, and mean things your significant other does and then you have to choice to decide” Can I live with these things the rest of my life and never want anyone else”. That is how things are supposed to go.

I have been dating my girlfriend for 3 years and I still learn things about her every now and then.  We get more comfortable with telling each other things everyday. She recently started telling me about her poops lol. People post that they are dating on facebook on and a few weeks later they are engaged. The same thing with the pregnant thing most of these people do not stay together, they usually only do because they do not want to break the commitment they have to each other.

I just hope the people my age that are reading just start thinking more about the things that they do. Before you and your significant other have that baby or get engaged think about the future. No one want to have a responsibility for the rest of their lives and somewhat always feel made them miss out on their dream. You also do not want to have to with someone that you don’t want to be with for the rest of your life.

It is more opportunities out there other than getting married and having babies. Most of the people I know that are married and having babies are not doing much with their life right now. You could be in college and/or the military. You could be traveling the world or just trying to find yourself. You could do a lot of things in your life right now, so why can’t you just wait at least 4 or 5 years after you go to college and enjoy the money from your CAREER to have a baby and get married? I promise it will be worth it.

I wrote this in order to criticize what many people in our society are doing. I did not write it to disrespect or offend anyone. Some people do get married young and stay together forever. The number is just low.

Slow down and think about your future and then make a decision. This will help you in the long run. You put yourself in the situations that you are in no one else. No one can make a decision for you about your life.
